Editorial Review for Central Park: Sheeps Meadow – by Julia Lyon
The Setting
Frederick Law Olmsted's chef d'oeuvre, the park is more popular than ever--park attendance has gone up by several millions in the last few years. So even though this southern expanse provides a way to escape from the concrete, you won't get away from the crowds.
The Mood
Party time! Bring the kids, the dog, the picnic basket and pretend you have your own lawn. Just don't muck up the grass--portions of the lawn are often in the process of being re-seeded. No matter, it's still one of the few places in the city where you can look up and see nothing but sky. Lie down and count the clouds. But go during the day. Though crime is down in the park, it's still not advisable to wander too deeply in the interior after dark.
