Sushi Samba 7

Celebrate the cuisine and culture of Japan, Brazil and Peru

  • HappyBox 5pm-7pm
  • Samba Brunch
  • Outdoor Dining

Only at Sushi Samba will you find a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, music and design. Sushi Samba is born of the energy and spirit of these three distinct cultures; a tri-cultural coalition that took root in the early 20th Century.

Samba Brunch: We've got a family style brunch for every style bunch! Your choice of four brunch favorites-- think pancakes, eggs bennie, apple-roasted bacon-- all served family-style for $15 per person. Don't beat around the brunch-- stop by Sundays from 11:30am to 3:30pm.

Editorial Review for Sushi Samba 7 – by Karen Hudes

The Scene
Glowing orbs and a spicy palette of oranges and reds set the festive mood at this West Village hot spot, where the lounge scene and rooftop DJ help sustain the buzz. An inventive cocktail list--caipirinhas and rum drinks with fresh berries--is just part of what attracts a steady, sleek after-work crowd.

The Food
The combined cuisine of Japanese sushi and citrus-marinated Latin seviche inspires a successful cross-pollination in many of the kitchen's starters, such as miso soup brightened with cilantro, and vibrant chowder with tender shrimp. Sharing different dishes is a good way to go, though the quartet of the succulent seviche may leave your sushi rolls tasting unexciting by comparison. An Asian pear crisp or chocolate Menta after-dinner drink finishes the meal gracefully.

Ever dated a really cheap guy? Ever dated a rude guy? Those are my comparison for this horrible restaurant. Sushi Samba is stingy on their portions and rude to customers--Our yellowtail sashimi came with 4 very thin pieces drenched in sauce--not appealing at all. Having worked at a phenomenal Sushi restaurant, I know that you can make a healthy profit and give your customers what they pay for. I would never ever go here again even if they offered me a free meal. Not only is the food overpriced, it is tasteless and has no presentation. The staff was rude and tried to usher us out as soon as we entered. I love sushi and this place delivered the worse dining experienced I've had. I was not satisfied one bit. My advice? Save your money and get real Sushi.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Rude Staff. Really bad food, Overpriced, Overrated

I thought this place was classy until we got scammed during restaurant week. Their website specifically lists the restaurant week prefix menu for both locations Sushi Samba 7 and Sushi Samba Park. But when we went there, the waiter simpy said, "yeah, the website is a bit confusing". I doubted myself and thought I read it wrong on the website. So needless to say, we stayed and spent a whole lot of $$$ for good not great food. I only got furious when I later checked their website again and realized I did not make a mistake, they did! And it makes it even worst that the restaurant knows that ppl are going their for restaurant week but persist to include the prefix menu listed as $35 for Sushi Samba 7. Really distasteful and sneaky if you ask me. I will never go here again. Not because of the price but because of their dishonesty. If anyone has had the same experience, pls feel free to express your disapproval of this method of business. There's still a couple of days of restaurant week left, so if the Sushi Samba management is reading this, pls take the prefix menu off the website..I think enough ppl have been scammed.

Pros: none

Cons: dishonest, sneaky business
