Editorial Review for Pelham Bay Park – by Drew Pisarra
In Short
2,764 acres make this the largest park in all five boroughs. Possessing various natural habitats and the sprawling Orchard Beach (once dubbed "The Riviera of New York"), this is the Bronx's answer to a wildlife preserve. Tourists and outdoor enthusiasts find plenty to keep them occupied. A number of idiosyncratic historic sites include the Bronx Victory Column (a 75-foot-tall limestone column topped by a bronze Athena) commemorates borough servicemen who died in wartime.
